In more detail
Effective from 15 July 2024, passport holders from 93 countries and territories, including, among others, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States ("Eligible Foreigners"), may enter Thailand for prescribed short-term business or work purposes without obtaining a Non-Immigrant Visa "B" from a Thai embassy or consulate. The permitted period of stay is up to 60 days, which can be extended for an additional 30 days.
Aimed at promoting foreign trade and investment, the prescribed short-term business or work purposes include organizing conferences, conducting training or seminars, performing internal audits, and carrying out inspection work. Eligible Foreigners should be prepared to present documents or evidence related to their business engagements, such as an appointment or invitation letter from a Thai entity, if requested by immigration officers upon their arrival in Thailand.
Please note that the Eligible Foreigners are still required to obtain a separate Thai work permit before performing those prescribed short-term business or work engagements in Thailand. Subject to satisfying certain conditions, they may apply for an urgent duty work permit for these purposes.
