Firstly, it is estimated that Mexico currently has a gender salary gap of 16%, with the states of Colima, Baja California Sur, and Tlaxcala showing the highest disparities. This gap represents a serious issue of discrimination and workplace violence against women based on gender. Addressing this inequality is not only a legal obligation but also a moral imperative to ensure a fair and inclusive workplace.
Secondly, the "Chair Law," coming into effect in June 2025, mandates that employers provide employees with chairs or seats with backrests for performing their duties or for periodic rest during the workday. Non-compliance with this law can result in fines ranging from USD 1,400 to USD 135,000, which can be imposed by each affected employee.
