On 5 September 2025, the federal government published the Sectoral Program for Anti-Corruption and Good Governance 2025–2030 ("Program"), a strategic planning tool that, among other things, seeks to modernize the Federal Public Administration (APF, for its acronym in Spanish), prevent corruption and impunity, strengthen transparency, etc.
The Program derives from the General Thrust I of the National Development Plan 2025–2030: "Governance with justice and citizen participation"; it obeys to Mexico's international commitments and establishes the actions that the Anti-Corruption and Good Governance Secretary will implement to meet its objectives.
The Program adheres to the federal government's new strategy, which seeks development based on people's well-being through a "direct" fight against corruption and aims to improve government management. To this end, the Program is based on 10 pillars, from two approaches:
Although the Program applies to public entities, private parties should strengthen their internal policies to encourage and contribute to comply with the guidelines established in the Program. Therefore, we recommend the following actions:
