Argentina: Non-remunerative allowance

Decree no. 841/2022

In brief

On 16 December 2022, the Executive Branch, through Decree no. 841/2022 ("Decree"), ordered the payment of a one-time, non-remunerative allowance for employees within the private sector, which will amount up to ARS 24,000.

The non-remunerative allowance will be paid in December 2022, subject to the conditions detailed below.

In focus

The main points of the Decree includes the following:

  1. The non-remunerative allowance will be paid to employees who, in the month of December 2022, received net salaries, including remunerative and non-remunerative items and excluding 13th annual salary, below ARS 185,859, or the proportional amount in the case of part-time employees.
  2. For those employees working part-time, the non-remunerative allowance will be paid proportionally to the working schedule.
  3. The amount of the non-remunerative allowance will be as follows:
    1. ARS 24,000 for employees who receive net salaries, accrued in December 2022, of ARS 161,859 or less.
    2. The difference between ARS 185,859 and net salaries greater than ARS 161,859 in the case of employees who receive a net salary between said values.
    3. Not applicable for employees who have a net salary greater than ARS 185,859.
  4. The non-remunerative allowance can be compensated if the payment of one-time, non-remunerative allowances, or equivalent benefits, has been agreed through collective bargaining between November 2022 and January 2023.
