Each employee falling under the Labor Code or the general status of state civil servant is entitled to 11 legal public holidays per calendar year.
However, in 2024, two of these legal public holidays, namely Ascension Day and Europe Day, will be celebrated on 9 May.
The Law provides that, in this case, a compensatory day will automatically be granted to employees. The Law specifies that the compensatory day must be taken within three months from the date of the legal public holiday.
The Law is expected to enter into force in the next days.
