Argentina: San Juan — public tender for the exploration of the Del Carmen and Jagüelito mining areas

The Provincial Institute of Mining Exploration and Exploitation (Instituto Provincial de Exploraciones y Explotaciones Mineras (IPEEM)) of the province of San Juan ("Province") has launched a public tender for the submission of bids to enter into an exploration agreement, with the option to exploit. The exploration agreement covers two areas under IPEEM's jurisdiction: Del Carmen and Jagüelito, located in the Iglesia department, the Province.

The bidding terms and conditions ("Bidding Documents") can be acquired until 27 August 2025.

In focus

IPEEM published the call for bids in the official gazette of the Province on 15 May 2025. The Bidding Documents will be available for purchase at IPEEM's offices from 21 May through 27 August 2025. The Bidding Documents cost USD 5,000.

According to IPEEM, both areas have a history of prior exploration. In the case of Jagüelito, exploration activities were conducted by Minera Peñoles (1996 and 2002) and Minera IRL Argentina S.A. (2006 and 2009). For Del Carmen, prior exploration was carried out by Barrick Exploraciones de Argentina S.A. (1994-1998) and Argentina Gold Corporation (1999-2000).
