Vietnam: New antidumping investigation against high-fructose corn syrup from China and South Korea

In brief

On 21 May 2020, the Trade Remedy Authority (TRA) of the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) received a petition for an anti-dumping investigation (AD) with regard to imported high-fructose corn syrup under HS code 1702.60.10, and 1702.60.20, originating from China and South Korea.

The petitioners include Son La Sugar JSC., Lam Son Sugar JSC., KCP Vietnam Industry LLC., Can Tho Sugar JSC., MK Sugar Vietnam LLC, and La Nga Sugar JSC., which together represent 54.64% of the total domestic production of high-fructose corn syrup.

On 29 June 2020, the MOIT issued Decision No. 1715/QD-BCT to officially conduct the investigation (AD11).
